2022 Flag Football Summer Camp - Willow Glen HS

Join us this Summer for Next Level Flag Football Camps at Willow Glen High School! Gather your buddies and sign up today for some awesome Summer Camp fun! See below for more info!

Camp is open to participants from 1st to 8th grade (2022/2023 school year)! The Programs will run Monday-Friday, June 20th to June 24th.

The Next Level Flag Football Camp teaches sound fundamental offensive and defensive football skills to both experienced and beginner youth athletes. Individual and group drills will be demonstrated to teach basic techniques. Proper warm-up, physical conditioning, skills drills and review are part of each scheduled session!

Coach Caballero, assisted by local high school athletes, will execute the Next Level Flag Football Camp Programs. Camp focus will be on core skill development (offensive and defensive principles), proper play execution, understanding situational roles, and of course...Next Level Game Action!

No previous flag football or Next Level program experience is required to attend the camp(s). See below for the full camp curriculum!

All camp attendees will receive a Next Level Summer Camp Nike Dri-Fit T-shirt along with other items which are included in the base cost of the program!

Site Logistics and Schedule

Camp Curriculum

Offense:

  • Quarterback Drills: 3 & 5 Step Drops, Scrambling, Throwing Technique, Reading Coverages, etc.
  • Running Back Drills: Ball Security, Ball Handling, Footwork Progressions, Change of Direction Drills, etc.
  • Wide Receiver Drills: Stance & Body Position, Releases, Route Tree Teach, Catching in Traffic, Motions/Sweeps, etc.

Defense

  • Age appropriate defensive coverages (man and zone concepts),
  • Proper stance, leverage, coverage alignments (man and zone concepts),
  • Blitz technique and responsibilities,
  • Zone coverage responsibilities, eye discipline and zone spacing discipline,
  • Flag pulling drills and fundamentals.

Teamwork

  • How to be a great teammate in a group dynamic,
  • Understanding and implementing play direction,
  • Getting in and out of an offensive huddle.

Site Director: Oscar Caballero

Coach Oscar Caballero began his football career in 1990 at Mt. Pleasant High School playing alongside his twin brother, Andre. Oscar won a full ride football scholarship to Montana State in 1996 where played under former Alabama OC and Florida HC Jim Mcelwain. For the last decade Oscar has acted as the Head Varsity Football Coach at Willow Glen High School. Accolades include San Francisco 49’ers’ Coach of the Week in 2014 and the Offensive Coordinator at the Charlie Wedemeyer All Star Game in 2012. Outside of his pride in his longrunning football career, Oscar prides himself on raising two fantastic sons, Kai and Kion, with his wife Parisa.
