Next Level OTAs
Our seasonal flag football camps - where our athletes train the fundamentals and master the details. These development sessions are a great lead up to our core Next Level Flag Football league programs.
OTAs Program Overview
Next Level Fall and Winter OTAs (Organized Training Activities) are seasonal flag football development programs designed to help athletes train the fundamentals, master the details, and prepare for the season ahead. Serving as an ideal lead-up to our core Next Level Flag Football leagues, OTAs give players the opportunity to build confidence, sharpen their skills, and develop a stronger understanding of the game before competition begins.
Each program focuses on the essential offensive and defensive fundamentals every athlete needs to succeed from the moment the ball is snapped. Through targeted instruction in stance, footwork, route running, coverage, strategic schemes, and game-situation simulations, players learn how to execute their roles with greater speed, confidence, and purpose.
Whether an athlete is new to flag football or looking to take the next step in their development, Next Level OTAs provide a positive, structured, and competitive environment where players can improve their football IQ, strengthen their technique, and prepare to perform at their best.

Flag Football OTAs Program Operations
Program Schedule
Next Level Fall and Winter OTAs (Organized Training Activities) are seasonal flag football development programs designed to prepare athletes for the upcoming Next Level Flag Football season. Program dates, session times, and locations may vary based on facility and staff availability. Families should reference their specific program page for the most up-to-date schedule and program details.
Grade-Based Training Groups
Next Level OTAs are organized by grade level to provide developmentally appropriate instruction for every athlete. Depending on registration numbers, training groups may consist of individual grade levels or combined grade groupings. Coaches will organize participants to create an engaging environment that maximizes instruction, repetitions, and overall player development.
Training-Based Format
Unlike our traditional Next Level Flag Football leagues, OTAs are focused primarily on instruction, skill development, and game preparation rather than organized league competition. Each program date combines targeted skill work, position-specific instruction, competitive drills, and situational simulations designed to help athletes understand and execute the fundamentals of the game.
Offensive & Defensive Development
Athletes receive focused instruction across the essential offensive and defensive fundamentals of flag football. Training includes stance, footwork, route running, throwing and receiving techniques, defensive positioning, coverage concepts, flag pulling, and other foundational skills needed to perform confidently on both sides of the ball.
Football IQ & Scheme Development
OTAs go beyond individual technique by helping athletes better understand how their responsibilities fit within an offensive or defensive scheme. Coaches introduce age-appropriate concepts related to formations, spacing, routes, coverage, communication, and situational decision-making to help participants develop a stronger overall understanding of the game.
Situational Training
Each program incorporates game-situation simulations that challenge athletes to apply their skills and football knowledge in realistic competitive scenarios. Goal Line, Red Zone, overtime, short-yardage, and other situational periods help players learn how strategy and execution change depending on the moment in the game.
Coaching & Instruction
Next Level coaches provide instruction, mentorship, and encouragement throughout each OTA session. Coaches guide athletes through skill progressions and competitive situations while helping participants understand the purpose behind the techniques, concepts, and responsibilities they are learning.
OTA Program Shirt
Every registered participant receives an official Next Level OTAs Nike Dri-FIT T-shirt, included as part of the base program registration. Families will receive applicable sizing and fulfillment information prior to the program.
Communication
Families receive program communications regarding schedules, facility information, reminders, and other important OTA details. Participants should monitor their email and program webpage for the latest information leading up to each training session.

Our Development Philosophy
Next Level OTAs are designed around a simple objective: train the fundamentals and master the details.
The program provides athletes with a structured environment to develop the technical skills, football IQ, and confidence needed to succeed when the season begins. Rather than simply running plays, participants learn the fundamentals behind each position and gain a better understanding of their responsibilities from the moment the ball is snapped.
Whether preparing for a first season of flag football or looking to take the next step as a returning player, every athlete is encouraged to learn, compete, and improve throughout the program.
Preparing for the Season Ahead
Fall and Winter OTAs serve as an ideal lead-up to our core Next Level Flag Football leagues. Similar to organized training activities at higher levels of football, these programs give athletes dedicated time to develop technique, learn concepts, and prepare for competition before league play begins.
Participation in OTAs does not require enrollment in a Next Level Flag Football league. The program is open to eligible athletes looking to improve their game and prepare for their upcoming football season.
Open to All Experience Levels
No previous flag football or Next Level Sports experience is required to participate. New athletes can learn the foundational skills and terminology of the game, while returning players can refine their technique, strengthen their football IQ, and prepare for more advanced competition.
Instruction is designed to allow athletes to progress at an appropriate pace while continually challenging them to improve.
Focus Areas
The Next Level OTA curriculum is built around four primary areas of development:
Stance & Footwork Mastery
Developing the movement, balance, and technique needed to execute effectively from the snap.
Offensive & Defensive Fundamentals
Building the core skills athletes need to contribute confidently on both sides of the ball.
Strategic Scheme Understanding
Learning formations, responsibilities, spacing, routes, coverage concepts, and how individual assignments contribute to team success.
Game-Situation Simulations
Applying skills and strategy through Goal Line, Red Zone, overtime, and other competitive situations athletes will encounter during the season.
Repetitions With Purpose
OTAs are designed to give athletes meaningful repetitions while helping them understand the purpose behind each drill. Players are encouraged to learn not only how to execute a technique, but when and why that technique matters during competition.
This combination of repetition, instruction, and situational learning helps athletes develop confidence and prepares them to make faster, smarter decisions once league play begins.
Parent Expectations
Parents and families are encouraged to support athletes positively while allowing Next Level coaches to lead instruction. Giving players the opportunity to listen, make mistakes, respond to coaching, and independently apply what they are learning is an important part of the OTA development process.
We ask families to celebrate effort, improvement, confidence, resilience, and attention to detail while helping us maintain a positive training environment for every athlete.
Weather & Facility Policy
Because Next Level OTAs may operate at outdoor facilities, weather and environmental conditions can occasionally impact program operations. Participant safety remains our highest priority. Severe weather, unhealthy air quality, unsafe field conditions, facility closures, or other circumstances may result in schedule adjustments or cancellations.
When program operations are affected, Next Level Sports will communicate updates to registered families as quickly as possible through our official communication channels.
Our Commitment
Next Level OTAs are about preparing athletes to step onto the field with greater skill, knowledge, and confidence. Through focused fundamentals, purposeful repetitions, football IQ development, and realistic game situations, our goal is for every participant to leave the program better prepared to understand their role and compete when the season begins.
Train the fundamentals. Master the details. Prepare for the season ahead.
