2021 Marin Catholic Flag Football Skills Summer Camp

Join us this Summer for the Next Level Flag Football & Skills Camp at Marin Catholic High School! Program 1 will run July 12th to July 15th and Program 2 will run July 26th to July 29th. Camp open to participants from 1st grade to 8th grade (2021/2022 school year)!

The Next Level Flag Football Camp teaches sound fundamental offensive and defensive football skills to both experienced and beginner youth athletes. Individual and group drills will be demonstrated to teach basic techniques. Proper warm-up, physical conditioning, skills drills and review are part of each scheduled session. Coach Moayed, assisted by his staff and select current & former players, will execute the Next Level Flag Football & Skills camp. The focus of the camp will be on core skill development (offensive and defensive principles), proper technique and fun!

No previous flag football or Next Level program experience is required to attend the camp(s).

All camp attendees will receive a Next Level Summer Camp Nike Dri-Fit T-shirt along with other items which are included in the base cost of the program!

Site Logistics and Schedule

Camp Curriculum

Offense

  • Basic formation and offensive play installation,
  • Proper receiving stance, catching mechanics and route running skills,
  • Ball carrying, ball security, escape moves and ball handoffs,
  • Passing, grip stance, different route runs and base read progression.

Defense

  • Age appropriate defensive coverages (man and zone concepts),
  • Proper stance, leverage, coverage alignments (man and zone concepts),
  • Zone coverage responsibilities, eye discipline and zone spacing discipline,
  • Flag pulling drills and fundamentals.

Teamwork

  • How to be a great teammate in a group dynamic,
  • Understanding and implementing play direction,
  • Getting in and out of an offensive huddle.

2021 Camp Dates & Times

  • Program 1 Dates: Monday, July 12th to Thursday, July 15th
  • Program 2 Dates: Monday, July 26th to Thursday, July 29th

Session Time (both Programs): 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Site Director: Mazi Moayed

Mazi Moayed is the Head Football Coach at Marin Catholic. He has led the Wildcats to eight MCAL Championships, seven undefeated, seven consecutive North Coast Section appearances, three North Coast Section Championships, three NorCal Bowl appearances, one NorCal Bowl Championship, and a trip to the State Championship Bowl Game in 2012. Coach Moayed was named Northern California Division III Coach of the Year by NorCal Preps in 2012. His overall record is 52-1 MCAL & 97-15 overall record (2010-Present). Prior to joining Marin Catholic, he coached at Novato High School, Berkeley High School, San Rafael High School, and College of Marin. As a player, he played at College of Marin, and later started as safety for the Semi-Pro North Bay Rattlers, who were undefeated for the 4 years he played. Coach Moayed has coached on both sides of the football and is known throughout our area as a leader in teaching his players the fundamentals of the game while instilling in them what it takes to compete on and off the field. During his tenure at Marin Catholic Coach Moayed has and staff have coached scholarship players at just about every position, the standouts of the group have been the four consecutive scholarship quarterbacks, the most notable being Jared Goff (2016 NFL #1 Draft Pick).
